Gen1 Starlet hood swap

I am awaiting the arrival of a Starlet hood to put on the EL44 Paseo and was wondering about the fitment issues. If you have done the swap, what needs to me modified? What adjustments need to be made? Thanks for any and all info you can give. Take care and always GOD Bless!!

I haven't done it, but the Tercel can fit that hood easier than a Paseo. You will have to change the inner and outer fender panels along with the upper radiator support. The front end of the Paseo swoops down way too much. Oh on a side note. Stop bidding against me on those brakes! lol

Thanks for the input with the hood and sorry about the bidding situation. I am just trying to get a head start on parts in case I need to replace anything Starlet based.

It does not fit!! It ends up being about 5 inches short from the grill. I will have to Chip Foose it!!!

too bad your not closer to California. I'm trying to make a paseo CF hood with the starlet TMIC duct. Problem is I have a good condition starlet hood to copy the duct but I dont have access to a good condition paseo hood or the measurements on where the TMIC will be positioned on the paseo.

If you want a copy of the scoop, I can make one of those. I'm not sure of the demand of a starlet scoop, but I'm willing to make a few if there is interest.

Don't know exactly until I make it. Basically looks like the top scoop part of the starlet. I figure you would need to cut a hole for the scoop to be functional.

Know anyone else that might be needing one? Cost goes down if I buy materials in bulk. The TMIC is realy close to the hood and yes it does need a scoop. Most people get a fmic but thats extra money that I dont have. I'm going to run to the fiberglass store and pick some supplies. Hopefully I can get something made in about 1 month.

Hey all, just joined up here as im running a cynos turbo, just to let you know what i done with my bonnet for the vent is that i cut out a large square in the gt bonnet, make sure you just cut out the top skin of it and cut it right back and include the holes for the window washers as those holes will line up with your own window washer holes perfectly.. the vent will line up perfectly with the top mount intercooler, mark and cut your own bonnett and mould the vent onto your own bonnett, thats what i done with mine and it worked a treat...Will post some pics of my cynos later...cheers
