There's a guide in the stickies at the top that discusses all options. Plenty of other great information in the FAQ and DIY thread as well.

There is some wiring that you will have to do and a custom exhaust, but the motor and tranny itself is a direct bolt in.

I've got one and have a diagram of my harness posted in those stickied threads, the DIY one. Untuned and on low boost with bad launches I got a 15.9 at around 89mph on street tires.

i believe they are the same only thing different about the 5e-fe or 3e-e's is how they are set up internaly, other wise they are the same motor. the only differnt toyota engine that isnt the same head from generation is the 4a-ge that i know of and thats b/c ones 16 valve and the other is 20 valve so the heads are differnt but they have the same block

4age's are a lot more powerful, but also heavier and need a lot more work to fit, including custom mounts and wiring...

plus a notch frame but i was reading on the TO that the gear boxes to the e series and the a series engine size as far when it comes to the connecting to the bellhousing so i wonder if the 4e-fte gear box is smaller then the 4a-ge's and if so you would have to notch the frame
