bad oxygen sensor?

Can a bad oxygen sensor cause a car to stall? It's a 1995 Toyota Tercel.
It sometimes stalls when decelerating. It's often at a place such as
stopping after exiting an interstate, where it goes from 60 mph to zero.
Someone did a diag and said that the oxygen sensor was bad,

Most say change it when it goes bad. One person in another forum says it's the fuel cut circuit. It seems as though it is either getting too much gas or not enough.

I sometimes have to accelerate it to get it to restart.

PROBLEM SOLVED.

I am embarrassed to report that I had never had the fuel injection cleaned or the fuel filter changed. Performance is much improved now.

Thank you.

Well it stalled again. It did after about six or seven miles of
going 60-70. It stops in situations going from 60 to 20 or less. Even
that is intermittent.
