I have a 96 toyota paseo 1.5l 5efe motor. I just bought the car from a friend. It has a check engine light and when I went to have the codes checked out it turned out to be a Flow restriction in my EGR Valve. Is there any way that I can blow air threw it, or is there any way I can put a blocking plate on it or will that affect something in the motor???

I think there is a metal tube running to the bottom of the EGR valve that is part of the gas circulating system. This pipe could be plugged up. The valve itself may be clogged and need cleaning, or there could be a problem with the vacuum actuating system/diaphragm valve.
