CV joint very stiff.

Got the drivers side half shaft out while I'm fighting the nut on the passangers side. The joint on the wheel side is much stiffer than the other one and other CV joints I have felt before. Is that a sign that the joint is going bad? Seems like there may not be any grease inside or something, feels very stiff and tight. I don't have all of the special tools to the clamping and all. Do yall think I should replace that joint while it's all apart? When I learn the car more I promise I'll contribute more than ask questions but I'm a Ford truck man and I also work on my military truck alot but these little cars are new to me.
