4th Generation

Yeah direct drop in but i dont know why youd want to? with wider gear ratios you could have the upper hand, low end power is not as good but while people are shifting from 1st - 2nd gear you could still be goin in first, unless you know how to shift real fast its harder to keep up to a 4speed manual

i love my 4speed 1st and 2nd gear are my champs if i could only have it with a 4age that would be cool 5 speed is for gasmilage just keep the 4 if you like your gears. oh yeah most people dont know this but also a cheap way to get a short shifter is to pull one out of a 97 celica the stock shifter has a longer throw and its not ten feet tall

Actually, the 5 speed gets worse mileage. Check it out on http://www.fueleconomy.gov.
