looking at 98 Tercel

I have found a 98 Tercel in my city a a used dealer for $4995. I have about that much to spend from insurance on a writeoff. It is a 3rd car, for my kids mainly. 170,000 km.

Does this seem a reasonable deal? Anything I should look for? Any advice would be appreciated.

Check it out on Edmunds.com. They have a good price estimation system. IMO that sounds a bit high.

That price sounds a little high. For that milage I would say about $3500, depending on the condition.
