1995 Paseo oil change

Hi, 1st post on this forum.

I just bought a 95' Paseo with 168,000 on the odo. She runs good and gets great mileage. I have to do an oil change soon, but it didn't come with the manual.

I know it should take about 3 quarts, but what weight?

You think I should switch to synthetic, or is it too late for this engine? I run synthetic in my truck, but have been doing that since it was new. I hope to keep this one going well over 200k.

It's 3 1/2 quarts, and I use 20w50 in mine, but I've also parked mine for the winter. I'd run 10w30 or 40.

Awesome, thanks!

How about the syn oil? Should I bother, or just keep it conventional?

With all of those miles, I just keep it conventional. Besides, I change my oil every 3 months or 3000 miles anyway, and I have 3 cars, so I can't see paying more money for synthetic.

20w50??! I've been running 5w30 this winter, and 10w30 in the summer. Is that thick enough for the 3E-E? Keep in mind that it's -2 degrees right now, just two hours after sundown, and was -24 (before windchill factor) this morning.

Wow! You're up there in the severe cold. Yeah, I do run 20w50 in my car, but keep in mind that my car is only driven from March to Thanksgiving weekend, and it has 177,000 miles on it. I do change it every 3 months or 3000 miles (3000 rarely. More like 3 months), so it'll be getting changed in March before I start driving it again. If I had to drive it now, I'd be using 10w30. By the way, it's 12 degrees here in Georgetown this morning. Feels like Spring compared to what you living through right now.
