Paseo engine swap/manual conversion??

Hey, i was wondering about doing a swap on my Paseo. I just wanted to get some over all information before i try to run out and do it. Its a 97 automatic, and i was wondering how hard, or how much money it would be to swap it out with a 4E-EFI Turbo with a 5 spd tranny. I could get the engine fairly cheap, but I dont know about the whole auto to manual deal seems like it could be pretty tricky. what i planned on doing was getting the engine and taking it to a shop but that seems pretty expensive.

Auto-to-manual is pretty straightforward. Find a parts car or go to a junkyard. Grab the pedal setup, clutch master cylinder and hoses to the slave. Also get the shifter and cables. you may also need the plastic interior trim pieces. Make notes of where the clutch master cylinder goes through the firewall. while the engines out you'll have plenty of room to make the holes.

Of course the engine set should come with everything else you'll need for the swap.

The swap is bolt in, the only thing that may need a shops hand in it is the wiring. There are people that can do that for you.

Yeah, the auto to manual conversion won't be as bad as switching from a 5efe DIS to a 4efte.

Here is a auto to manual DIY. Keep in mind its on a right hand drive Starlet (almost the same as our Tercel).
