Smile wayward rear-end

I have a 92 tercel with a 5spd. it is the worst car i have ever driven in the snow. I put studded snows on the front they are called winter force by firestone. I have 13' wheels, I did find out after I bought these tires that they say to use them on all 4 tires. It feels like after encountering about 2-4" of snow that the rear end starts going off into another direction. I took out the windshield and door window once already only doing about 35mph. I am 62 yrs old and very use to snow driveing. I can't find anything loose on the rear axle any ideas? I have read where other people say their tercels are pretty good in the winter. This car had been wrecked in the front once by a pervious owner, its possible they had the same problem, also it handles fine on dry roads.

wow, well start with the matched set of the studded tyres in the rear and maybe get your alignment checked (if not adjusted).

The Tercel is a light vehicle compared to pretty much everything else out there. If you get in a bit of snow, especially if its packed down at all, you just ride up on it. Rutts also tend to throw the car around a lot again due to weight. If your having problems with the back end hanging on definitly get two more snow tires for the back. Personally, I've never had a problem and think they handle pretty good in the snow.
