94 paseo engine swap

i have a 94 5 speed paseo...its got 179 thousand on the current engine so imma have to get a new engin anyways in the near future...im thinking i wanna put either

4A-GE DOHC 4 1587 160@7400 120@7400 10.5:1 AE101 VVT "Silvertop" 4A-GE DOHC 4 1587 165@7800 123@7800 11:1 AE111 VVT "Blacktop"
or
4A-GZE DOHC 4 1587 165@6400 152@4400 8.9:1 AE92
4A-GZE DOHC 4 1587 170@6400 152@4400 8.9:1 AE101

so besides custom mounts what other things will need to be done. and if i get a gze i plan on putting a better supercharger or turbo in it anyways but if its just a GE will forced induction kill the motor? thanks :]

so i decided on the 4A-GE DOHC 4 1587 160@7400 120@7400 10.5:1 AE101 VVT "Silvertop" since its cheaper and stronger than the blacktop...which is great for forced induction. i just need info on the custom engine mounts...does anyone have the templates or a place to buy the mounts for a 4age into a 1st gen paseo or tercel equiv??? thanks

i have done my research. which is why i said i ONLY need info on the mounts. i even have a place to get the custom axles. i could just have the shop im gonna take it too make the mounts but im sure they are gonna rape me on the custom fabrications. so i rather buy them or have them made thru a third party cuz it will most likely cost less.

bro go with the Blacktop. i used to have a MR2 with a silvertop in it, i tried running it open ITBS. that engine is the biggest headache. and its not 160hp, toyota lied youll get stock 125hp at the wheels. get a blacktop lighter internals 11:1 comp ratio, yea its not better for turbo or supercharger, but it has a better head flow MAP sensor, rather than afm. trust me it just better.

Peace
i read alot of bs on some sites about the 20V, that engine isnt that good, the intake is extremely loud but in the end to source parts and the prices, youll end up working on it more than you even drive it.

thanks bro and good input. but i have my plan down pretty good. plus they didnt lie. any engine you read about where it lists HP its talking about engine HP not wheel hp...on average you lose 25% of hp before it gets to the wheels. so a 160hp that loses 25% hp = 120 whell hp. stock paseo has 100hp so wheel it has about 75hp. 45hp increase before i even rebuild the motor. second im using the blacktop ecu and wire harness so i can have the MAP instead of afm...i did my research. if i get the black top it will cost more and i will have to put in new pistons and rods (getting forged pistons and rods for the silvertop anyways) which will make it into a lower compression/heaveir internals engine. that is equivlant to making a black top into a silver top...now why would i spend TWICE as much to get a jdm blacktop when i can get a silvertop cheaper. plus like i said im rebuilding the silvertop before it even goes into my paseo.

When i said they lied i meant that its actually 140bhp. Iknow that when they post up hp its not wheel, its just that silvertop engine was rushed into production, you can do what you want but ive seen BTs going for 800 and silvertops for 500 so twice as much idont think so, but like i said better head flow bigger itbs and instead of afm which is supposedly worst for forced induction you come with a map base ecu. You got your plan good, since you'll prolly be going with a adjustable computer it doesn't even matter.
Peace

dude dont get me wrong im not hard headed...if i saw a blacktop for cheap i buy it in a heart beat (since im rebuilding from scratch anyways) and yea i forgot the blacktop has bigger head flow...the reason on the ST is because the lowest ive seen for a FULL ST w/tranny it 700 and the lowest for FULL BT w/tranny is 1300. so could you point out where to get them at those prices?

tranny not included but you could have just swapped bellhousings from a c52 or someshit like that. http://www.jdmtigerjapanese.com/

they even have a 4e for $350 only engine

hmmm...the problem with that site is that it doesnt include transmission, ecu, or wire harness. so to gether those seperately would actually cost me more.

For the right hand side engine mount I was planning on using the mount from a '94 Corolla. It would require that you drill two holes straight down through the right side chassis leg. Better than trying to fabricate a joggled adapter I think.

I found some very good photos of mounts and chassis cut-out on a couple of Paseos.
I think I saw them on Tercelonline. Sorry I didn't save the link, but I did save the photos.

I would like to give credit to the owners of these photos, but I am sorry I didn't record the information from where I copied them. The tags say CarDomain, but I think I got them from TercelOnline. I think these will be very helpful.
