USA 93 paseo engine

Hi all i just purchased a 93 paseo with a bad engine cause it was driven without oil and i am wondering what used engines i can look for in a salvage yard?Will a tercel engine fit?and what years? Any help will be appreciated.

Look like the 95-99 Tercel used the 5EFE.

The 95+ Tercel & 96+ Paseo 5EFE (DIS) is different than the 92-95 Paseo 5EFE (distributor). They use the same mounts and all, but you will likely run into plenty of wiring issues. The 3EE from a 91-94 Tercel would drop in, you probably wouldn't run into any wiring issues, but you'd lose almost 20HP. Your best bet is to find one in the junkyard or get a JDM one off of ebay and use your USDM exhaust manifold and you'll be good to go.

Thanks for your help, Im going to see what i find i would prefer to find an exact paseo engine but they are so rare to find here in central florida.

it would be wise to replace the seals on those puppies, they tend to leak a lot! especially rear main seal

Engine!!!

Any ideas on where i can find one of these engines or at least the block?I live in central Florida and i have looked in a few salvage yards with no luck..
