Interchangeable?

Just a quick question for the guys in the know. Are all 3E-E lower ends the same? (crank, pistons , con rods etc..) Tryin to find out if a '93 EFI head would fit on a '90 block--both 3E-E
Ok maybe not so quick, how do you get different bearing sizes for the crank and rod . I ordered a set of bearings and found no standard (1,2,3,4..) numbers to match those on the existing crank and con rod bearings --would these numberless wonders work?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated
PG

Are these non-Toyota bearings?

Toyota and other manufacturers typically use two numbers, one for journal diameter the other for bearing holder bore diameter. Knowing these numbers (stamped on block and crank) a bearing can be selected using a chart in the Toyota service manual. Bearings are typically color-coded to tell them apart.

Toyota would have these bearings that can be purchased by color. You will need the numbers and a chart to determine color. Or perhaps the parts desk can look up the color based on the numbers.

If using aftermarket bearings the clearances should still be within tolerances and as a result they should work just fine. If in doubt check installed bearing clearances with a plasti-gage and compare to the specs. After market bearings normally are only available in stock sizes and do not offer the fine-tuning in bearing clearance that the manufacture does.

They are TopLine after -market bearings-
Plasti-gage measurements are within manufacturers spec's
just more on the higher end, enough to make me uneasy about it-

With grattitude
Peace
