Clutch replacment on 93 Paseo

Hello,

I have a 93 Toyota Paseo with 300,000 km, my problem is that the clutch is slipping under hard acceleration. I would like to replace the clutch myself but I was wondering if anyone has done it and how difficult it is? Can it be done in a garage at home, also do I need any special tools. Any tips or instructions on how to do it are greatly appreciated.

Thank You,

Mario

As long as you have a decent selection of hand tools, a jack, jackstands, pry bar, etc. you should be good. 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 17mm, 19mm sockets and wrenches are the primary tools. There might be like 1 22mm (drivers tranny mount) and I use the 24mm on the lugnuts (I think they are SAE, but I already have the metric stuff out). The one 'specialty' tool that I can think of is a 30mm or 1 3/16" or 1 1/4" socket for the axle nuts.

Replacing the clutch itself once you get the trans out of the way does not require any specialty tools. You should prolly loctite the pressure plate bolts.
