Tercel oil use

Need some assistance. Working with my daughters 91 DX Tercel. Rebuilt engine installed approx. 2000 miles ago. Need to check oil every 5-7 days and usually add 1 qt. Any ideas? Should valve stem seals be considered?

Yes, if you dont see any external leaks or puddles under the car, this is usually the cause.

How much is the repair going to cost on parts and labor? Does it involve dismantling the motor? Maybe I can just get the parts and have my mechanic do it.

i'd go back to whoever rebuilt the engine and explain the problem

they've got to guarantee their work for more then 2000 miles

Yeah, I had my rebuild guaranteed upto 12k miles. And I'm just about to hit 20k and I do have a small leak, but I don't have to add oil inbetween my 2500mile oil changes.
