Hey guys, thanks for responding!! Iput in a new oem filter and took out the k&n filter a buddy of mine ruined his mass air flo sensor on his ford truck cost him 400 big ones.The money you save in gas you spend on repair ,oil got on his filter mechanic said and ruined sensor, now im not saying that would happen to my car but ive heard this before.why take the chance. anyway just came back from looooong road trip with my 96 tercel , drove all the way to Timmins far noth up in Ontario... yes shania twain country about 1400 km round trip ,trunk full i mean full with passenger and 1 person in back car performed beautifully I know the motor was working alittle harder but kept up in traffic with little effort. Gas mileage good worked out to about 27-28 mpg. Any way it gets pretty cold up there in moose country , one night got to minus 32 degrees celcius tercel started no problem... first crank.
Alot of people plug in their cars and trucks during the winter months this far up north drove by a brandnew chevy truck lot up their and they had their battery boosters out LOL IM running synthetic cause i got it on sale but I,ll go back to conventional when i run out.Im sorry but i dont remember the persons name who left the post about his 96 tercel loosing his engine at 171 thosand miles what happend?
