djeph, you CAN turbo your Tercel 4wd!!!!!!! Some guy turbo'ed his Tercel 4wd Wagon, converted it into a 5-Door Hatchback Sedan. Go here: http://www.maijalaracing.net/kalusto.shtml
Also, somewhere on ToyotaNation, I saw a supercharged 1986 Toyota Tercel 2WD Wagon. I would recommend: http://www.translation-guide.com/fre...ish&to=English
I would recommend this because I think the text is in Finnish. You should ask Mikko Uusimäki by email contact through the Maijala Racing Team "contact us" and ask him what brand and model of turbo he used for this Tercel, how he did it, and ask for more pictures. You should tell him that you are planning this mod with your Tercel and that you need more information from him about it. Good luck and have fun pimpin' that ol' beast! vbmenu_register("postmenu_265449", true);
Thanks a lot for all the comments. I've been boosting this motor for the past 3yrs now and I've had nothing but great luck. The main reason is for using a Standalone ECU called MegaSquirt. For anyone out there interested in going carb to fuel injection i recommend this ECU. Also make it really easy for tuning for new upgrades. Now for the update, I have since installed DIS (distributorless ignition system). Pics Below:
Definately a great improvement, because now i am able to program a more aggresive timing curve. This allows for better throttle response and greater economy.
Here is also a video clip of me reving up the car, just to show you guys how smooth it runs.
Car is definately a fun car to drive, and set-up as a sleeper very fun looking at the faces of people driving e36 m3's getting smoked. That is it for now, but if anyone has any other questions, I will gladly answer.

Well, heres a few pics of where I'm at so far, right now I'm working on the charge pipes and the bracket for the intercooler (its probably too big... but it was really cheap). I'm still not sure how thew stock carb is going to react to boost, but if its bad new I've gotr a carb off a corolla FX, or I'l get a weber.
BEHOLD THE RUSTED GLORY!!(I've since replaced the valve cover with the blue one from the coupe)
HERES THE TURBO INSTALLED, WITH THE OIL AND COOLANT LINES HOOKED UP(I've fixed the actuator rod now too)
SNAZZY NAPA BRAND OIL FEED T FITTING
I EVEN GOT AVAY WITH KEEPING MY POWER STEERING AND OIL FILTER IN STOCK LOCATION, THE DOWNSIDE HERE IS THAT I'VE GOTTA FIND A NARROW RAD NOW
HERES A PIC OF THE MANIFOLD ON ITS OWN, I HAD IT DONE AT A WELDING SHOP IN HOPE THAT IT WILL HOLD TOGETHER FOR A WHILE AT LEAST
