93 tercel

Im a female i know nothing about cars but i will try to fix anything myself. My tercel will not start its not the battery as i checked it on a charger and it has a full charge. My gauges all move when i try to turn my car on everything works as far as lights etc. There is no clicking when i try to turn it over. This happened last week after 3 days of sitting it all of a sudden just started up. Someone mentioned that it may be the starter or the regulator. Any ideas? If it could be the starter where is it located on the car?

Open the hood and stand beside the driver's fender, look where the engine and transmission fit together, now look just behind the engine. The starter is right there. The bolts are on the transmission side, facing you as you stand there. A 14mm socket fits them, a 12mm takes the battery wire off, and a small wire is clipped on. Takes 5 minutes to remove if you do it often, no more than 30 minutes first time ever.

i have a 93 and have a problem with it starting. the interesting part is that the clutch has to be pushed down and then to the right to start. i have checked all sensors and they are all in the right place. i just have a quirk to get used to.

Depending if your car is auto or standard, if its standard there is a button under the clutch pedal that needs to be depressed before the car will start. I'd suggest that you pull the plug off and join the 2 wires together. Then you will be able to start your car with out pushing in your clutch.

if it's auto, however, when it's in park, sometimes i have to jiggle the shifter for it to start. when the car feels like it's in gear or not neutral, it will not start. depress the button on the shifter and jiggle the shifter a little bit, but leave it in park. try to start it after that

if they're loose i suppose...you could also check the terminal on your starter, if that's loose, it might be an issue as well..
