Headlight Alignment info needed for Tercel

Hi-
I'm trying to help a friend align the headlights on his '95-> '97 (?)
Tercel. The owner's manual doesn't seem to have any info on this. Any help is much appreciated.

Thx,
-W-

There are 2 adjustment screws on each headlamp unit. The vertical screw adjusts the level off the ground ie. how far ahead u want the beam to be thrown (CW drops it, CCW raises it) and the horizontal affects the width of the beam (CW out, CCW in).

When it's dark out, set the car on level ground about 20ft away from a wall and align them. Do them low beam first then high beam so u have the right balance between the two, cuz sometimes the low beam spread may be great but the alignment may not take well to when u put on ur high beams.

I'd think that the width of the spread and the distance are a matter of preference but remember that too wide and you'll have dark spots in the centre of the car and too far and it won't be as bright where u need it most and your high beams will blind oncoming traffic when u have them on.
