The interior fuse panel is located to the left of the steering wheel. The underhood fuse/relay box contains the compressor relay. If the light is flashing, chances are good it has leaked out most of the charge and the low side switch is stopping the compressor from running. If your belt is loose and squealing, this problem can arise due to intermittent drive of the compressor. Common leak areas are the hermetic o-rings on the lines and the filter/drier. Next would be the compressor shaft seal. Did you jump out the pressure switch? Its a bad idea to jump out a safety and add refridgerant at the same time. What was your low side pressure before you added the R-134a?

Its sooo nice when its a simple problem. AC systems are a PITA to work on and troubleshoot. Good to see you fixed it.
