tercel 1999 side collision

Hello everyone,

how bad is this, can i get away with changing the 2 doors from a junkyard ? or is there damage to the frame ?

the car is a 1999 tercel with 180 000 km i can buy it for $300 but i'm wondering how much it'll cost to fix

thanks

Its hard to be sure but it looks like its just body damage. Seems that your door took the worst of it which may work in your favor. Set it up on stands and go underneath for a look. The frame rail is about a foot apart from the rocker panel. Have a look at it and see if its bent. Try www.car-part.com for used parts. I did see some doors for your tercel but couldn't get a specific listing since I don't have a zip code for your area. Your gonna need to do some hammering on the rocker panel and maybe the LF quarter panel to get the new doors to fit properly. Looks like part of your plastic fenderwell is sticking out. On the bright side, my sisters '02 Escort was damaged pretty badly in the same area. She managed to roll it off a small cliff (small being about a 10-15 ft drop) down into a creek bed. After much hammering, a new windshield and pushing the roof back up, it still drives to this day. And by some miracle with no alignment problems. Good luck.

Depends on where u live, u might be able to buy another Tercel with a dead engine or something and swap out the parts from it. Ive done that with another car, just make sure u get SAME YEAR same model. Or u will have to manualy splice wires like i did, its hard work but still eazy and cheap.

Your welcome. Too bad someone else got it. I did the same thing not too long ago. Small dealer was selling an '86 Supra 190K for $800 bucks. Disappeared before I got there.
