It's not an impossible swap but it's not a cheap one either. The axles I had made were $600 each. You'll need a custom transmission made up of at least two different models. Wiring is a mild nightmare. Exhaust is a major nightmare. Then you'll find out the chassis really doesn't have enough meat to properly handle that much torque and weight.
If you want something to do with the 3S get a early 90's Celica and bolt it in.
If you want to cut up a Tercel for a swap do it with a 4AGE.
If you just want it to be fast drop in a 4EFTE.

Expect several people to agree with this and a couple to argue.

Tercel GTS has basically given you the order from most difficult to least difficult. Check out the sticky up top of the forum for the "A" series swap. 4agtetercel also has a thread here on his swap. Search and read. You'll find what your looking for. Bailing on the 3S in your garage so quickly?

Not bailing

Not bailing out on the 3s swap but I want a daily driver with a little more get up and go and a little more top end I've got the 4efte now if I am right the horsepower ceiling is 300 don't want to get that deep in it financially if that is the most I can make I really want realistically like 400-450 that's y I was so excited when I found the 3s for so cheap

Boostjunkie on TercelOnline is making over 400 with an E engine. The 4A can make 400 easier than the E block. Straight up though you're talking about a tire frier. If you already have a 4EFTE then you know how spin happy they are in wet weather. Can you imagine attempting to drive it in wet weather with 3-4 times the power? Go find a 91-93 Celica and park next to it. Notice it's barely bigger than a Tercel. Then look at the front suspension and braking system. Notice how much meatier it is. My dad has a convertible 93.

I scrapped the 3S Tercel in favor of the rwd Starlet seen in my sig. My budget for this car is $12,000 and that's cutting a lot of corners. It won't be a daily driver but will see street use. Turning the 3S from sideways to forward cost a lot more than expected.
