Check connections

Before you buy anything, check under the hood to make sure the tach (rpm guage) plug is plugged in and not soaked with oil or water. I'm not sure where that is in a paseo, but it's near the distributor in my 89 tercel. If in doubt, check all electrical connections that might be it and clean with WD40 any that are wet.
