When I turn on my a/c my lights get really dim. The car shakes like it it is epileptic. Any suggestions?

Sounds like your idle up valve isn't working correctly. Your RPM should increase to about 1000-1150 with the compressor running.

Well I released some 134a from the ac system, and it doesnt draw as much power. However it is still very noticeable. Also where is the idle up valve?

What good would releasing the refridgerant do??? Its VERY ILLEGAL to do that. The idle up is near the ECT and charcoal canister VSV. Please refrain from crack pot repair techniques unless your trying to prevent your A/C from working entirely. I would expect you need your air conditioning this time of year. You can burn out a compressor with an undercharged system. And futhermore, there is a noticeable decrease in power when running the A/C and its normal.
