Weak Engine Mounts - What to do?

Sorry I had previously deleted what I wrote.

So my turbo down pipe has broken the mounts a few times, and I keep needing to fix the down pipe or the turbo brackets. As it turns out my engine mounts are all shot - all 3 of them. My engine shakes around like a wild animal and snaps off turbo brackets!

I heard from a friend about 2 days ago that you could use Silicone, Glue or Polyurethane filler and fill up the round motor mounts to make them entirely solid so they are stiff, so the engine cannot fly around back and forth and damage the exhaust system or snap the turbo header.

Being sick of the engine rocking back and forth and not wanting to spend $70 a piece for new mounts, I ordered some $33 Urethane from McMaster-Carr.com per the recommendation of this random Hond* website I found http://www.d-series.org/forums/diy-f...ne-mounts.html

I ordered the 60A Urethane and I am going to fill all 3 motor mounts so they are solid. This will prevent my engine from rocking about 1" back and forth as it does now, which should prevent my exhaust brackets from literally ripping off!

I have never used solid motor mounts, but the 60A hardness Urethane is supposed to be relatively flexible so the vibration is somewhat bearable. Anyone have any input on this? Is this a good idea?

Um, get some poly mounts? Not sure what your getting at with the links. Your cars look good but couldn't find much relating to your engine mounts.

Cheapest solution i think is, Just get a welder and weld on whatever you need right onto the frame, in multiple places. Get something iron, and cut it with something, weld the peices onto the mounts to reinforce em.

Buy a complete set of coverted poly mounts from GT_REVVA. Or make your own but it will be tough o find the right bushings to fit the mounts.

I find that these quater inch thinck bolts that come on my tercel engine seem to look realy weak. If you wanna go crazy on yours, you can REDRILL the holes and replace em with HIGH STRENTH bolts, much thicker. You will have to grind off or dremel off the nuts which are welded onto the engine mounts though, cuz it will be tough to drill them, they are much tougher then metal.

Just remmeber that the actual car steel and iron, are TOTAL CRAP, they are quite eazy to work with.
