Can anyone recommed a long or short block engine rebuild service? How do i find one? I have been looking and looking and i cannot seem to find anything worthwhile. I have read some posts like turbo tercel where some one shipped the engine to get it inspected and rebuild at least partualy..?
Anyone know where one can purchase a rebuild 3ee engine cheaper then ebay? On ebay Long block is like 1000$ Ebay sellers have to get it from somewhere?
Thanks again for your replies!

Thanks dude, Im just getting bullcrap quotes from "Engine rebuilders" there like 4000 for engine rebuild if they take it off, and 3000 or so if I bring the engine to them...
On autozone and ebay the rebuild engine is like 1000-1500$ which is still expensive, considering i have a fully working engine, exept its the rings are leaking...
I just need some one who can diagnose any problems, measure the cylinders for warpage, and possibly re-drill the holes. Maybe also rebuild cam?
I tried calling a few Machine shops but they say they can do it but there "NOT specialized in Engine rebuilds"
Would it make more sense to buy a rebuild engine and sell mine? How much is a used 3EE worth? I havent seen any on ebay so far...

Search the web for toyota rebuilt engines. There are companies out there that will take the old motor for a core. They aren't local unfortunately, but the shipping cost far outweighs getting ripped off. I mean like $4k, are they serious? You build a 5E and turbo it for about that much dough. Whoever you talked to, they're crazy. Just tryin' to your wallet.

Just buy a used engine like I'm about to do. The 5efte was just getting too expensive. I can buy a 4efte running for less than the pistons and bearings.

when i was planning on replacing my 5efe i did some research and asked alot of questions. the reason was due to a reman'ed engine costing only a little more then a used salvaged engine. 1,000-1,500reman vs 800-1,000 used w/shipping. mind you a reman'ed engine comes with a gasket set, whereas a salavged engine you might need to replace some of the seals.
i ended up going with a salvaged engine, spent about $400 extra on parts like seals, clutch, water pump, t-belt and idler pulleys. i talked to some of the toyota guys that i work with about reman'ed engines and alot of them say even engines that come from jespers have had to be pulled out and undergo warranty. the techs told me they have never had a problem with used/salvaged engines. i also read the same thing. so i figured toyota built it right the 1st time. theres a reason why a toyota built factory engine can run up to or more that 350,000miles. most rebuilt engines seem to last 50-80,000 miles.
if your engine is running still my not just do the work yourself. just take the head off and check all the torerence of the bearings while your at it and replace all the parts that need to be replaced. it might cost more it might cost less then a rebuilt engine, depends which corners you cut and how resourceful you are.
