Name that part...

On the back of the throddle body, towards the fire wall, is a black part held in place, top and bottom, with two phillip head screws. And it has a elec connector. What part is that? (96' 5EFE engine.)

Also on the throddle body, below the air inlet tube is a gray plastic part with a built in soleniod. It is held in place by two phillip head screws side by side. What is that? Thanks....

Question 1. what is a throttle position sensor.
Question 2. what is an idle air control.

Not 100% but should be right.

I am looking for the MAF or MAP sensors. I want to clean it (or them whichever the case may be). But thanks for the answers! Do you know if the 96' 5EFE has a MAP or MAF?

It has a MAP. You don't clean them. It's on the firewall near the master cylinder. It's a small black part with a vacuum line and an electrical plug.

Wow. That little thing? I looked on Rockauto ($47!) and I know where that part is. I was at a junk yard yesterday and grabbed a couple things off an engine. A spare EGR and that MAP thing amoung others. The loose parts cost me over 40 dollars, but I guess I did OK. Today I'll install them and hope that helps. Thanks.
