Cruise Control Swap From A/T Donor to M/T Paseo

Hey all,

I am looking at installing a cruise control setup from an A/T 1992 paseo into a M/T 1992 paseo.

The donor car has all of the parts still. Here I what I think I would need. Please tell me if im missing anything.

- Throttle and cruise control cables
- Throttle body
- Cruise Control ECU underneath the stereo...
- Throttle cable universal linkage
- multiple wire harnesses...
- Brake safety switch

Revised list. I was able to get ahold of an EWD -

- Cruise Control ECU
- Actuator (includes universal linkage)
- Throttle Body
- Switch assembly on steering wheel (includes rotating contacts)
- Wire harnesses

Since im going from an AT to a MT there will be no clutch safety switch but it doesnt look like its required for operation. Most of the wiring looks to already be in place but simply requires a spliced signal..

Use the nuetral safety switch setup to make the clutch switch. Don't think it's something you don't need.

Do you mean the clutch safety switch? I though about using that. I had already planned on using the brake switch which should be really easy to do. It just seems kind of redundant to wire up the clutch too. its not really plug and play either because the donor car is an AT

I pulled all of the parts out of the donor car today except for the sections of wire bundle from the dash to the engine bay. It looks like I will be making a custom six wire setup running to the front of the car for the cruise actuator. Im curious to see when I get home how much of the cruise control wiring will be in the bundles of my car that doesnt have the system installed.

Just in case somebody else wants to try the same thing as I, you will need to go to the junkyard armed with a wire diagram and an understanding of how to read it.

Just grab all of the relative components off of it from your donor car...

The nuetral safety and clutch safety work the same way and inside the car are only 3' from each other. Use the two wires that go to the auto shifter to run to clutch pedal switch. When clutch is pressed does same thing as putting shifter in P or N.
Without that switch you run a far greater risk of something going wrong and your car possibly running someone over or causing a wreck.
Cheap easy insurance.

Thanks for the advice dude but I will probably pass on the clutch safety switch until I can find a donor MT car with one.
