Question Help: Tachometer Installation

I have a 1989 toyota tercel 1.5L carbureted engine. Since the car doesn't have an rpm gauge, I want to install a tachometer.

I went to autozone and bought the cheapest one they got called Sunpro Super Tach II. I need a little help in installing it. It says that the green wire goes to the negative side of the ignition coil. I have a distributor ignition system, but where is the ignition coil? Is it inside the distributor?

--------------
SOLVED

I connected the green wire to the IG pin next to the diagnostic link connector in the engine compartment.

yeah, i need one too,

i read up on em, for the tercel 90-94 its the green black wire form the ignition coil, and the other contacts into any power outlet, i suggest sometihng that turns on and off with the engine, or else ur battery will drain. My coil has 4 wires.

Coolies u got it workin
