Unhappy Do these coils look right? HELP!

Pulled motor to redo seals. Car wont start, timing is perfect! Checked for spark, ZERO! Pulled the coils, because i noticed they wont "click" onto the spark plugs. This is what i found, are they suppose to look like this? Or is something missing? Hurry, Im headed to AZ to spend $120!

Looks like the clip is missing, and no I cant find it anywhere.

just check for spark! If your alone u can do this:

TAKE out the sparkplug, or plug any ok sparkplug into it, right into the wires, leave it hanging somewhere, dont plug it into motor.

Put a small peice of paper towel or something flamable but small between sparkplug points, nothing too fat.

Start the car and then come look at it, if its burned u have spark, if not u dont have crank it only once if u can.

If u dont u need new spark plug wires

That spring is ok but inside theres also like a small tubelike clip, which slides around sparkplug, and that spring connects to the very end. Or maybe rather that TUBELIKE clip is Welded to the spring! yeah i remmeber now! I think its like that

Ive never replaced this on my car but every rebuild people USUALY replace wires and distributor cap anyway.

I would order them online, its cheaper. Autozone might have em not too expensive also, but instant, they have a large supply of different wires, and u only need 4

Hope that helps

Do the new ones make spark?

If you haven't bought the new ones yet we can run a few tests.
