High Oil Pressure at Idle 97 Tercel

Pulled the oil pump for a leak and now I read 50 ft.lbs of pressure at idle.

I cannot remember if I installed the outer rotor gear with the DOT facing the front of the pump ! The outer rotor ring looks the same on both faces, so I was wondering if this would raise pressure ?

What would happen if the O-Ring around the oil pump jumped out of the groove in the block on assembly ? Would that raise pressure 10x ? The o-ring is not a tight fit in the block so it has to be put in carefully.

I Did clean the pickup strainer good and tested the pressure relief valve.
Oil pump is well within tolerence.

Do you folks have any ideas ?

thanks for any help on my 5 efe engine.
