CV Axle won't come out

Hi,

I need to replace the transmission seal on my 1991 tercel with 4 speed but unable to get the cv axle out to do the job. I try using hammer it to a prybar for over 2 hours and not been able to get it out. Anyone have suggestions to help me.

I would appreciate any help.

On a stuck one I had to use a long bar as a punch to catch a rib at the transmission hub and a 4lb mini sledge to knock the buhjezuz out of it. What part of Georgia?

Also, do I have to take out the Driver side first before doing the passenger side? Someone had mentioned that on one of the posting in the internet.

Plus one on the sledge. Thats a lot of mass to get moving so you want to use a heavy hammer. I use a 3 pound sledge and a large punch .
