Is it for a 1992 Tercel ? Is it the same engine (5E-FE) ? Is it the same transmission for both cars ?
Now for a smooth and hassle-free swap :
You will need a new oil filter and oil (10W-30 Regular), new coolant (1:1 ethylene-glycol and don't forget to bleed your system), an engine jack, a flat and smooth working surface, etc.
When the engine is installed it's always better to fine-tune your engine : Use a timing-light and check for good ignition timing (10 degrees BTDC), check your alternator (minimum 60A at 12V), spark plug gap (0.043in), spark plug wire resistance (maximum 25000 ohm), check for timing belt wear, check for drive belt(s) wear, check if all water and vacuum hoses are tight enough, engine speed on idle (M/T 750, A/T 800), check transmission fluid level and condition and check for any check engine light.

Happy New Year!
Well, my Tercel is a 1994 2-dr with I think is a 3E-EE if I'm not mistaken, but the Paseo is a 5E-FE which I learn from this forum is a perfect plug n play... (including engine loom) is this correct?
Thanks for replying.
Edit: I'm planning on keeping my auto transmission, as it has only 65K miles.
The 1992 Paseo is a 5E-FE and the 1994 Tercel is a 3E-E.
The ECU is different so you will need a 1992 Paseo ECU and the complete wiring harness. The engine and transmission mounts are the same.
And the transmission I'm not sure if the Auto 1992 Paseo fits the 1994 Tercel, someone else will have to give you an answer :P

Wrong max, drop the 5efe in and hook up the 3ee harness. You may need exhaust mod but that's it. A Paseo harness will NOT fit straight in a Tercel and a 5efe ecu won't like a 3ee harness. Just drop it in.
Are you sure Tercel GTS ? The schematics are completely different !

Leave the 3ee ecu in the 3ee car. Hook the fuel injectors, distributor, ignitor and so forth up as if it was a 3ee. Been done MANY times. Trying to swap harness' and you'll have issues. 3ee injectors are hooked in pairs in the harness where a 5efe are all seperate.
What about the solenoid controls for the transmission ? If I remember right the park neutral switch is on the transmission harness.

Didn't say he was swapping the transmission. The 5efe bolts directly to the 3ee transmission.
My bad !

Ok got the 5E-FE motor and while it's out I'm looking to replace timing belt, tensioner and idle pully. The front crank seal as well, but wanted to know if the back one should be replace also?
My Tercel gas cable look too long for the linkage on the 5E-FE throttle body, so I'm thinking if I should get that as well off the Paseo...?
200 may have high compression pistons like mine does. Replacing the rear seal, timing belt, water pump and oil pump seals are all good ideas. Also add valve cover gasket and distributor o ring.
