Whole car shakes like hell when I let the clutch out.

Hi guys, I have a little problem and I hope someone can figure it out for me !

When I start in first, I let out the clutch slowly without giving a lot of gas and the whole car shakes like hell until the clutch is 100% released. It only does it when the engine is hot and it does it in first only. It has been doing it since November.

I was thinking about engine/transmission mounts, but if that was the issue the shake would not be that bad. The whole car literally jerks. I was also thinking about a oil leak through the rear main seal but the clutch would only slip. I was thinking about maybe warped clutch but I drive the car everyday, highway only, and I have been driving M/T since 10 years and owned several cars so clutch warping is very unlikely. A friend told me that the shock absorber springs on the clutch may be old and wearing out but I don't powershift or dump the clutch.

Awaiting a reply, thank you all ! (I will try to do a video explaining my issue)

I couldn't really say what it could be. The Clutch could just be getting warn. I bought mine used and driven it for about a whole year until my clutch went. Check out my thread relating to this. My spring completely popped off the plate. I had mine lock up a few times before it finally gave out.

That's usually the sign of a worn clutch disk trying to engage a flywheel that needs to be resurfaced. We had the same thing on a different manual transmission car. Could last you a week, or a year, but likely it's just time to do a complete clutch job. Flywheel has to be removed to machine the surface. Sometimes you can get away with just replacing the clutch disk but ...

Allright then, let's wait for the clutch to die. I won't be changing the clutch soon because the clutch is not slipping and has 240 000 km driven by me, I know my clutch is still good :P

My car does this too sometimes (and has for years), though not as violently as you describe and not every time. It became more pronounced when my clutch hydraulic cylinders started leaking, prolly because I can't finesse the pedal as carefully with air in the hydraulic line. Giving a little more gas when engaging the clutch seems to reduce the amount of vibration. I always suspected it was a damaged/broken finger on the clutch making it a little rotationally imbalanced but never investigated since it didn't get worse.

Hope that helps
