Engine replacement question

I have a 92 Paseo with the 1.5L engine & a manual trans. It belongs to a customer. The engine is bad & he wants a new engine put in. I have been told that I have to get a manual trans engine, or if I use an automatic trans engine, I have to swap over the intake & exhaust manifolds & the "water castings", whatever those are.

Can anyone tell me if all this is nessessary with an automatic trans engine?

No it isn't, they're all the same. You may want to keep the temp sensor though as I've found they give unique readings.

Automatic uses torque converter and manual uses flywheel. You'd just have to swap parts to keep the MT setup if you got a motor split from an auto tranny.
