I'd try buying the electrical part of an ignition switch. Plug it up if possible to test. If that cures the problems install it.

Ok......any chance it could be the condenser underneath the rotor? ( I think it has a condenser underneath the distributor cap)....you are talking about the switch right before the ignition barrel?....

Well I replace Ignition starter switch and that was not the problem. Still blew the AM 2 fuse. So for giggles I disconnected the radio capacitor/ condenser, put the cap and rotor back on and now it cranks and doesn't blow the AM 2 fuse. The only thing it's not starting now though. Just cranking . Do I need to put the air box on maybe. I ordered the capacitor being that is only a $5 dollar part. In another thread someone mentioned cutting the capacitor wire but I'm not sure. Tercel GTS, or anyone else have any thoughts I would really appreciate any additional info...

Yes replace the capacitor. Apparently it's shorted but has to have one to run. They cost less than $10 at dealer.

I got my capacitor today and installed in the distributor. Well......guess what?.........SHE RUNS!!!. I want to thank everyone here that has put input to this thread. This is by far the best toyota forum on the planet!... I like to give Tercel GTS a special thanks for his dedication and time toward this site and hopefully this will help someone in the future .Thanks again everyone!!! Grunt.
