1994 toyota paseo starting issues

I have a 1994 paseo with a automatic transmission. The issue I have is now it won't start. This happened out of the blue. Battery is good. I pulled the starter and had it tested and it is good. I have power to the starter stud but no power to the small signal wire . Would this be the starter relay? I get no click at all. Appreciate all info. Thanks

maybe starter relay as it sounds like starter even tho im not certain what is the circuit of it
might be a wire on the ignition barrel tho.. i think the small wire that goes to the starter is STA signal to the ecu
is the engine cranking?

like tercelgts said, are you in neutral?

It won't start in neutral. I tried in neutral many times. Even tried wiggle the the shifter up and down.......The engine doesn't crank at all. No click. Tried looking for that starter relay and it looks like its buried deep under the dash somewhere by the diagram I have........ any other thoughts?

Those two are special and go out through bottom.

If you apply power to the small terminal of starter does it spin then?

I took a wire I made to the small wire terminal of the starter to the battery and yes it spin for only a mili second because then the fuse blew .....I hope you are on to something Tercel GTS...sorry for the delay response. Sometimes I work long and weird hours......I hope it is something simple...any more info would be appreciated...

Has anything been altered or worked on recently? New stereo perhaps? Also do you hear any 'click' as you turn the key to start position?

The starter relay should be visible by simply pulling off the cover around the radio area.

Nothing has been altered or worked on recently........I did put a radio in a few years ago but haven't had any issues till now. There is no "click" at all. Are you thinking starter relay? Also can you "test" the relay? Again appreciate all the info......

You need a circuit tester (test light) to confirm power and ground to the relay. Do you have one or can you get one?

white/green is power in for starter should be + constant
black goes to starter should show - normal but + with key in start
white/black is constant -
b/r assuming black/red but could be blue/red is + from key switch.

Cover snaps off around radio for access and should be on left side of radio. Seems like mine is green.

This diagram may help, it cuts off the battery pic on left and ground on right.
