A/C constantly on - 96 Tercel - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

Hi, I just bought a 96 Tercel 2 door manual and I have a problem with the a/c. The a/c is constantly on when I turn the fan on, and it doens't make a differnce if the a/c button (with the green light) is not pressed - the a/c is still running. The problem seems to be that there's always electricity on the a/c. The heater works fine and the fuses are ok.
Any suggestions on how I can attack this problem?

That is funny... I was having that problem too. I have 2001 Echo. It stayed on for about a week. It didn't matter if I turned the button on or off. It finally went off but, I have found that if I turn on my window defroster and turn the temp to cold the A/C comes on. Strange.....
