snow chains on 1995 Tercel

Has anyone put snow chains on a 1995 (or newer) model Tercel? Any recommendations? I'm a recent transplant to Washington from places further south that don't require snow chains to get over the passes in the winter.

studded snow tires

Yeah, I may have to do that, but I don't need to use them all the time, so I'd hate to spend all that money unless I have to.

i live in new hampshire so we get snow and all that crap too. thing about chains is they can fail and break. if they are cables they can snap and lash out at your car and tires. you might be ok with just an agressive set of snow tires alone. the trick is to take them off in the spring and run them again next winter season.

I believe snow chains are illegal in michigan as they have a tendacy of snapping and tear up the roads.

Just get a nice set of snow tires.
