water temp of 92 Tercel?

Hey Guys, I just got a 92 tercel. after warming up and running a while, the water temp seems to be relatively high for the toyota's i've driven(1999 corolla, 1992 corolla, 1985 camry).
The water temp gauge is about 3/4 way towards the hot side. from my toyota experience, I've seen normal operating temp of about 1/2 towards hot at most. Is this normal for you tercel owners as well?
BTW, The car is stock.

No, as you say half way is correct, check your fans, relays and sensors to find out why it's that hot. If the fan is coming on at halfway and it still goes to 3/4 you may need to get the coolant system pressure checked.

thanks for the confirmation. i was a little suspicious. but as it is now slightly below 0 degrees here in MN, I should be ok.. but may have to wait the the weather holds up.. I have a slight suspicion that it may be my relays or the fan. since i've owned it for this last week i don't recall hearing the fan come on.. thanks again for the confirmation I'll do come diggin.
