1988 Tercel DX Wagon 4E-FTE Swap Possible [?]

Hey guys,

This is my 1st or 2nd post in this forum, and I gotta say that I like it already; its cool to see people with modded Tercels.

As the title states, I have an 88 DX Wagon non-4x4 with a 3E 1.5L motor sporting the single barrel carb. It has been sitting at my parent's house in Jacksonville, FL while I attend college in Tampa and drive around my 2002 WRX here too.

I have seen a bunch of motor swap threads, but none specificially pertaining to my model/year.

Essentially, just under sheer boredom coupled with growing curiousity, I started browsing on eBay for motors and was wondering if a 4E-FTE motor would fit in my car without 'too much' problems.

I love that wagon because of its versatility and really what better sleeper than a friggin' wagon?! I actually wanted to get the WRX Wagon more than the sedan also.

Here are a few pics

and the 4E-FTE motor that I saw on eBay

p.s. sorry for some crappy pics

why not just bring it to back yard productions in miami have them take care of everything right there for you. its doable. they'll just have to convert it from carb to fuel injected. so ecu of course and fuel pump is gonna have to be changed too.
