Broken control arm bracket

Hi,
I have a 1983 4wd toyota tercel wagon in Colorado. The car runs great as I keep up on all repairs myself. I was expecting to get many more miles out of the engine. The other day I had to be towed back to my home. The place on the frame of the veichle (the bracket) where the front passenger wheel's, lower control arm, attatches to the body, broke. It cracked and pulled away from the frame and is barely still atatched.
It looks like there is rust over that bracket and the bracket itself is too rusted to be welded. The frame under the bracket is not rusted and neither is the rest of the underbody, except for the same thing about to happen on the other side front wheel. I really like this veichle and would appreciate any suggestions you might have on finding a solution for this. The bracket itself is not an easy piece to duplicate and then weld it in the exact position it needs to be, as there is no way to locate that exact position once the rusty bracket is cut away. I am also wondering if this is a mfg. defect. Any help in getting this back on the road will be well appreciated.
Thanks for your help.
