94 paseo making noises..

I have a 94 toyota paseo.. whenever i start the car right as it starts it sounds like i am over turning the key. like its already started and i try to turn the key again.. any ideas??

Also. It is ticking really bad. Its a fast tick and the faster i go the louder and faster it gets. the only time it doesnt tick is when i am cruising and just coasting.. any ideas what the problem is? how to fix? how hard? or how much would it cost to have it fixed?

As for the ticking, check to see if your spark plugs are loose.

my paseo has a similar problem. started out as a small tick, but only when i really steped on the gas. In about a week i noticed a louder tick w/ another gurgling sound(almost souded like an exhaust leak) but i didnt hear it wen i was coasting. finally one day on my way to the shop it broke into all out schreaching. wen i popped the hood it was obvious the ticking was coming from one of the belts, so i bought some belt dressing and sprayed them, and it stopped. Of course come to find out, it is. Getting it fixed first thing tommorow all belts replaced including timing belt for $100, not bad. Im no mechanic tho, just a suggestion

Check your exhaust manifold if it has a crack or loose it will sound the same.

as for the key it sounds like your starter is sticking to the flywheel may be time to change the starter. It's rare but it happens.
