dude where do you get good condition 4efte's? I am really wanting to drop one in my '91 Tercel, but havent been able to find anyone who ships them to the states. WHo do you go through? Are the engines in good shape? hit me up
www.Jarcoinc.com and get my man Joe's number. He has complete half cuts which is the best way to go. Better then trying to find all the parts that you need later.
p.s. That is a clean job you did on the swap. Kudos!
I just bought almost the same car you just did that install on. It's a "91" tercel same color four door 5sp/1500. I got the hunger for mods already. Previous Mustang enthusiast(novice builder). Very excited about what I can do with this car. She's a runner! I life in Chicago so I won't be fortunate enough to have you do the build. What would you recommend? The 4EFTE or the 5EFHTE? Where can I purchase a long block? I wuold also like to do a posi unit. I like the 5sp and the original driveline only has 56,000 on it. Albeit swapping a better clutch I think the Ole 5sp will hold up. I am looking for a builder in the Chicago area. I saw you belong to a network of builders. Can you recomend anyone in this area. If not, no sweat!
Nice work by the way!
Thanks
Mike
That 5 spd wont hold up long under boost, the tourqe multiplication from boost will chew it up. you need the 4efte c152 tranny. it has poor gear ratios [same gears as AE86 corolla] but it can take over 330 ft/lbs of tourqe

this sounds like an ideal swap. if i were to send my 3e and a 4e wire harness to BYP and get them combined would the wireing be pretty straight forward after?

Hey Doc! How are you at doing the final tune? I should have my whole setup installed by Sept and could use a proper tune by someone familiar with my platform and has the tools. So what do you say?
I've got a brand new LM-1 that's just dying to get to work
You better let me know for sure quick though, I've got like 6 other people who want swaps done and it's just a matter of who gets their act together first!
