I have a 1994 that i just recently got that wasnt running on all cylinders. I got it running but now its smoking pretty bad. I tried putting sea foam down through the cylinders to loosen up the oilrings on the pistons. and it helped but its still smoking so im in the process of doing that again. Does anyone have any other suggestions of what else could be causing it to smoke like this. It isnt too bad idling, but is much worse when accelerating.
If you have any suggestions let me know.
what color smoke? according to my shop teacher...white is coolant, blueish is oil, and black is gas. as for getting worse while accelerating.. timing maybe? hope this helps

Its blue smoke, sorry for not specifying. We are thinking that its the oil rings on the pistons. If its blue smoke would that have anything to do with timing or no?
valve stem seals USUALLY only smoke at start up and acceleration from idle....
do a compression test and see if it's the piston rings. Remember...piston rings are metal, so don't think that these products are gonna "moisten" them like some do to rubber o-rings or whatever for power steering etc. I personally think that anti-smoke stuff is bull, just makes the oil thicker is what it does!
