Canada Newbie questions

I've got a 99 Tercel, 4 dr, manual, 165,000km
First: where can I get a manual easily? Crappy tire dont seem to have after '94.
Second: Ive changed a timing belt or 2 in my time, but usually used a manual. Is there enough info on this or similar sites to do without a manual (i.e. get the mark alignment data & bolt torque, etc.?
Third: If my check engine light is on, is there any choice except go to dealer and pay them to pull the codes?

as to 1 and 2 dunno but for 3, you should be able to pull the codes using your key, turn it ON,OFF,ON,OFF,ON pretty quickly, after a sec or 2 the check engine light will start flashing out the codes, a number of flashes(for the first #), a small pause then more flashes. in between codes there is a longer pause. the drawback: you need a manual to ID the codes. write down the codes and try looking on the web for discriptions and see what you can fix yourself. ive done it on two cars and it worked nicely but dont quote me on any of this as im not a mechanic

edit: i looked in the manuel for my car and to pull the codes with the key i have to put a jumper wire in the diagnostic connector. i cant remember which termials though. sry!

The 90 to 94's are the same and you can get one at Canaidian Tire. If they don't have any ask them to order one. That's what I had to do.

I cant get manual at C. Tire, they only have 94 & older, but I want 1999 (the last year before Echo).
