What car does the 4age come from? what are the advantages of that motor over the starlet swap?

The engine is larger, 1.6 instead of 1.3, and it makes more power in stock form, 170 for that blacktop version in the link.

For this swap in the Tercel/Paseo, you're looking at custom mounts, axles, and wiring. I can take care of the wiring for you even by mail if you like.

4age was most infamous from the ae86 corolla, ae92 corolla (coupe and sedan form), and the FX16. I don't want to say it came in a tercel but i think of one the 80's gen cel's came with a 4ag.

checkout www.club4ag.com they're forum is pretty much dedicated to that motor.

there's also a few variations of the motor which made different HP outputs. i've forgotten all of the little tidbits, but the two most popular differences of this motor is the normal 16valve 4age - which makes like, 108 or 110 hp? and then the 20v 4age which outputs ike 165 hp.

you can also build a frankenstein out of that motor, by combining the block of the 20v and the valve train of the 16v. makes a powerband with more torque vs hp i believe. price, reliabilty and proven performance, i haven't read up on. i just heard about it as i was getting my attention diverted for a minute (after i crashed my ae86)

^ yeah those too...didnt they come 4AGZE too?

The 20V motors are awsome, they make a lot of power for there displacement...What about a frankenstein 7AGE?

7AFE - 1.8L inline 4
4AGE - 1.6L inline 4

Combine the block of a 7AFE and top end of 4AGE and there you go...1.8L with a performace head design .

yea ae86, ae92, ae 101 and ae111 all came stock with 4age's of some sort. same with the aw11 mr2's. they had the NA version and a supercharged version.

as i stated, the FX16, which i believe is closestly related to the ae92 chassis.

i almost slipped and said the celica came with it, but i was unconsciously thinking of the 22r. which is also a nice motor that i miss dearly.
