Does anyone know if there were models of the '93 Tercel that came with a tachometer? And if so, would it be able to just plug into my base model, tach-less Tercel?
I saw a Paseo with a tach that looked like it had the same interior at the junkyard...anyone know if that would hook up easily as well?
get a 91-94 paseo instrument cluster. Thats what i did. Its all just plug an play. Same Bolt Pattern, same wiring, same everything

in my experience i HAD to match years.
I have a 94' tercel (without ABS, but the wiring was still there for it) and so i pulled one from a 93 tercel i think (without the ABS light) and the gas guage didn't work nor did the check engine light or battery light.
I pulled it from a 94' paseo and everything works.
good luck!
basically...like said....try to match trannys and years together.
Now since the tercel is tach-less, wouldn't you need some kind of wire hookup to get the tachometer section of the instrument cluster from the paseo to work on the Tercel??
nope... Like mc said its plug n play. If you get that paseo cluster, all the plugs n stuff are the same as the tercel ones. Theres no separate wire or plug for tach portion of the cluster.
I could be wrong, but i heard the gas gauges were a different size, do they still work properly? also while you are getting the cluster, be sure to get the seats as well!!!!

some of the gauges are diferent sizes, but thats to make room for the tach. All you have to do is take your stock one out and put the new one in. If you need any tips on how to put it in, just ask. Or if you want to know how i did it.
As for the paseo seats......i dont know anything about that.

I think paseo seats will bolt on, because before when I had my tercel I was told to buy some paseo seats. Yeah, the gauges are different sized because it needs room for the tach.
Paseo seats are direct bolt ups as long as you get a 92 - 95 set. 96 an up are newer body styles. Same for the cluster....you got a 93 tercel get a 93 cluster.
I have a '92 Paseo instrument cluster with a tachometer in it if you are interested.
I took it out of the donor car for my engine swap, with the idea of fitting the tach into my '89 Tercel cluster. After close comparison it didn't look like I could fit it in without butchering the panel so I got an aftermarket tach instead.

Guys, how about a cluster with a tach for the newer style Tercel (1995-1998). Anyone knows if there is one available? Will the newer 1996 and up Paseo work? I have a 1995 Tercel Coupe 5-MT DX
I had the same problem....i got a cluster out of a 93 (i have a 92) and my gas guage didn't work, nor did the oil light and battery light...so i had to get one out of a 92 tercel...and it works great...
