81 or 82 tercel dunno what this part is

Ok im new to this whole car thing i bought an 81 or 82 tercel and i have a part that needs replacing but i dont know what its called or how much its gonna be lol if i post a pic can someone please tell me it came off the battery wires.

Those are fusible links. To get a plug and play part you'll have to see the dealer and that's if it's still available. If not visit an electrical repair shop in your area. Good luck!

You can try an auto wrecker, I was like 5years old when I first saw that... on my dad's 80 Tercel. He was explaining that that is where the wire is thinner and will break if there is too much power.

Is there any writing on the wire itself indicating the gauge (AWG) number?

From what you can see in the picture I'd say the wire frayed from engine movement. I'd also say lexy has a pretty hair color and should take more pics.

Which end goes toward the battery lexy?
