rear end bounce. 98 t1100

i have a 98 xtracab t100 with 280k
aftermarket extended shocks from les schwab
that dont show any oil leaks

when i break the rear end starts bouncing
when i break downhill its even worse
when engine is at exactly 1000rpm it has noticeable vibration
when i go over a speed bump the rear shocks bounce multiple times
left rear brake has alot of greas in it( leaking hub seal or something)

question is which is the most likely suspect of the bouncy rear end

the engine mounts
the unbalanced drive shaft
the rear diff internal
the rear shocks blown

Yup mine did the same thing with a leaky axle seal. Was causing my brake light to come on and off. It was also making my wheel drag (fish tail) in the rain cause of the axle fluid all over the shoes.

You seem to have multiple issues.

Gear oil has contaminated yer rear brake shoes which is causing them to grab when the brakes are applied. You will need to to fix the leaking axle seal and then replace the brake shoes. If you have a 4WD T-100, you will need to make sure the axle housing isn't damaged around the rear leaf spring perches. If it is, yer gonna need to fix it or replace it. The contaminated brake shoes grabbing and oscillating has probably damaged the rear shocks so they are no longer effective at dampening and will need to be replaced.

As fer the vibration at 1000 RPMs, is this with the truck in gear and rolling or just sitting?

vibration mostly noticeable during idle but sometimes during very slow acceleration as it passes through 1000rpm point

i dont really drive the truck

when it warms up and as the idle drops and passes through 1000rpm the engine vibration becomes much louder until it drops below 1000rpm
and when i coast and needle drops to idle i feel same thing happening

but the bouncing of the rear when i go over speed bump is that pretty much a dead giveaway of blown shocks?
or can it bounce with good shocks and when the bed is empty because it so light?
or will it still bounce only once and not multiple times after?

Yup, worn shocks will allow yer truck to do that. Keep in mind that the main job of the shock absorbers is to dampen the rebound of the spring.

Have you inspected fer any loose bolts? How good is the fan support bracket and bearing?
